March 10 Midweek Worship

CALL TO WORSHIP

Behold, Lord, an empty vessel that needs to be filled.

My Lord, fill it.

I am weak in the faith;

strengthen me.

I am cold in love;

warm me and make me fervent, that my love may go out to my neighbor.

I do not have a strong and firm faith;

at times I doubt and am unable to trust you altogether.

O Lord, help me.

Strengthen my faith and trust in you. Amen

Matthew 6:9-15

A reading from the Gospel of Matthew, the 6th chapter:

“Pray then in this way:

Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.

Your kingdom come.

Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.

And do not bring us to the time of trial, but rescue us from the evil one.

For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you; but if you do not forgive others, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Here ends the reading.

MEDITATION

LUTHER'S EVENING BLESSING

I give thanks to you, heavenly Father,

through Jesus Christ your dear Son, that you have graciously protected me today. I ask you to forgive me all my sins, where I have done wrong, and graciously to protect me tonight. Into your hands I commend myself: my body, my soul, and all that is mine. Let your holy angel be with me, so that the wicked foe may have no power over me. Amen.

THE LORD's PRAYER

Lord, remember us in your kingdom, and teach us to pray

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread;

and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever and ever. AMEN

BLESSING

God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit watch over us all. Amen.
