Feb 24 Midweek Worship

OPENING DIALOGUE

We begin in the name of the Lord, whom we are to fear and love.

Fear God? Are we to be afraid of our Creator?

Not afraid, but filled with reverent awe.

How shall we do this?

By trusting God above all things, and calling upon God’s name.

In every time of need, in prayer, praise, and thanks.

And because we fear and love God, we love and respect all God’s creation.

People and animals, plants and water, mountains and deserts.

Exodus 30:1-3

Then God spoke all these words:

I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery; you shall have no other gods before me.

EVENING BLESSING - From the Small Catechism

I give thanks to you, heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ your dear Son, that you have graciously protected me today. I ask you to forgive me all my sins, where I have done wrong, and graciously to protect me tonight. Into your hands I commend myself: my body, my soul, and all that is mine. Let your holy angel be with me, so that the wicked foe may have no power over me. Amen.

THE LORD’S PRAYER

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name,

thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread;

and forgive us our trespasses

as we forgive those who trespass against us;

and lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us from evil.

For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever and ever. AMEN

BLESSING

God the Father, ☩ Son, and Holy Spirit watch over us all.

Amen.
